Why Ghana?
Ghana stands as a beacon of political stability and democratic governance in Africa. Over the last two decades, the nation has strengthened vital national institutions and boosted investor confidence due to seven successful elections. This positive and stable environment has anchored Ghana’s economy in a consistent growth trajectory, making it an attractive location for foreign investment and business ventures.
We envision a vibrant and globally competitive business landscape in Ghana, where entrepreneurs and enterprises have the tools and support they need to succeed. By fostering an ecosystem of innovation, collaboration, and inclusivity, we aim to unlock the full potential of Ghanaian businesses, enabling them to become critical players in the global economy.

US and Ghana Relations
The United States and Ghana have a longstanding collaboration and mutual history of respect. Dating back to Ghana’s independence in 1957, the U.S. has supported Ghana’s democratic journey.
The partnership between the two nations has grown over the years, promoting democracy, human rights, and the rule of law. Ghana’s success in building resilient, democratic institutions and ensuring peaceful transitions of power has made it a role model for other African countries.
US Assistance to Ghana
The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) are critical players in implementing U.S. development assistance in Ghana. Through various programs, the U.S. has supported Ghana in improving its power sector, enhancing food security, providing access to quality basic education and healthcare, and strengthening local governance.
The West Africa Trade and Investment Hub in Accra extends technical assistance to small business owners, helping them expand their businesses and access new markets in the U.S. and the West African region. Additionally, the Peace Corps plans to re-establish its program in Ghana, with volunteers contributing their expertise in education, agriculture, and health, tackling issues such as HIV and AIDS, malaria, sanitation, and nutrition.

Ghana’s Membership in International Organizations
Ghana plays an active role on the global stage and is a member of several international organizations alongside the United States. The country was elected as a non-permanent member of the U.N. Security Council for 2022 to 2023, reflecting its commitment to promoting peace and stability worldwide. Ghana’s observer status in the Organization of American States and membership in the United Nations, International Monetary Fund, World Bank, and World Trade Organization further strengthen its position as a responsible global partner.
